About Individualized Funding
If you have a developmental disability, Individualized Funding is a way to get funding or benefits. This might come from the government or other organizations.
With Individualized Funding, you have more choice in the things you do and the supports you get.
Two examples of Individualized Funding are Passport Funding for adults 18 years or older and Special Services at Home (SSAH) Funding for children under the age of 18. There are also many other kinds of Individualized Funding.
Some important points about Individualized Funding:
- It has also been referred to as Direct Funding.
- It allows you and your family to purchase supports and services that meet your individual needs.
- It gives you more choice in the things you do and the supports you get.
- Planning is important to help you make the best choices when using your Individualized Funding.
